What are the modern rules of courtship? does anyone here follow them?how does it work for you?

ive been going through a lot in relationships and since traditional dating isn't working for me, ive began to think a lot about courtship vs. dating. does anyone here follow the rules of actual courtship? how does it work for you? is it easy to follow in modern times?im not a prude nor am i opposed to anything mainstream (which is one of the reasons why ive always been against courtship;i thought it was outdated) but i am seriously considering it since ive been through so much heartache dealing with the guys ive dated.i know people who've followed the rules of courtship as in very few dates, no physical contact other than hugging, no visiting each others homes, etc. and its worked for them. but these people also different from me in many ways. for example i am a single mother and i do have a ,. both of which hasn't been a factor for my friends who've courted. so if anyone here can help me, give me advice on courtship, i would appreciate it
