What are some of the best things to do in Las Vegas? Best places to eat, shows, gambling, local attractions?

This will be my first trip in August. My husband and I enjoy sightseeing (i.e. Hoover Dam) and rest & relaxation. I like great tasting food that's not too expensive (we don't like pretty food that's high priced) and we have 1 show to go to that I already have tickets for. Which is the best casino to go to?
