In exodus 14:14 it says the Lord will fight your battles for you while you sit by silently and do nothing?

I know that the context of this Scripture is that Moses is telling the people not to be afraid and put their trust in God and he will deliver them. I don't see any reason that this can not be true for us today. 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that all Scripture is useful for teaching and Isaiah 55:11 says that God's word will not return void. I think what you suggest here is highly likely.
