Is this a good gift for my boyfriend?

my boyfriend lives across the country, and i would like some input about my valentines girft to him. hes not into store bought gifts, so i made him a message in a bottle, with sand and shells, the letter inside is painted dark yellow and burned and has a shakespeare sonnet on it.....the bottle sits in a painted wooden box.....if there any guys that would tell me what they think id greatly appreciate it.....hes a manly guy, but extremely romantic, and sweet....but i dont want my gift to be too girly romantic for him....
