Does the Atkins diet really work!?!?!

Does the Atkins diet really work!?!?! Im thinking about doing it but i want to know does it really work!! If you've done it how much weight have you lost from it? And in how much time!! And if you know any other good diets (same questions from the other diet) tell me!
